How SlateRoom collects, uses, keeps and protects information from the creators who use it.
1. Who we are
SlateRoom is operated as a joint venture between SOAR Productions (Paul C. Brunson) and Buildcraft (Carl Brunson). "SlateRoom," "we" and "us" mean that joint venture.
2. What we collect
- Account details. Your name, email address and Google account identifier when you sign in with Google, or your email and a hashed password if you use email sign-in. The company name and role you give during setup.
- Your YouTube connection. With your consent, read-only access to YouTube Analytics for the channel you connect. The access token is stored encrypted. SlateRoom cannot publish, edit or delete anything on your channel.
- Content you add. Videos, audio, scripts and captions you upload, and what SlateRoom derives from them: transcripts, still frames, a smaller preview copy, reads, clips and exports.
- Public posts about your videos. When you ask for an audience response scan or build an audience from accounts, SlateRoom collects public comments and posts from the platforms you choose, through official interfaces or third-party collection services.
- Site measurement. This website may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits and page performance without cookies and without building a profile of you. Signing in sets one session cookie in the app, needed to keep you signed in.
3. Why we use it
- To run the reviews, clips and exports you ask for.
- To build the audiences you set up and show where each claim came from.
- To run your account, including billing once paid plans are available.
- To meet legal obligations such as tax records and dispute resolution.
4. What we keep, and for how long
- The original file you upload is released once processing finishes. SlateRoom keeps the preview copy, transcript, stills and results your reviews need for as long as your account is open.
- You can disconnect YouTube at any time from your Google account or by asking us. A disconnected channel stops all new collection.
- You can ask us to delete your content or your account at any time. Business and billing records are kept for as long as the law requires.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your content, your channel data or the decisions you make about your videos. We share data only with:
- Infrastructure providers that host, store or process data for us: cloud hosting, database, encrypted object storage, transcription and language-model providers, and the services that collect public posts. The current list is available on request.
- Anyone you choose to share a read with by link. You can revoke a link at any time.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
- A successor, if SlateRoom is acquired or merged, under the same protections as this policy.
6. Model training
Your media, your channel connection and content derived from them are not used to train or evaluate shared models. Connecting your account does not give that permission.
7. Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw your YouTube consent, and object to specific processing. If you are in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Security
Data is stored encrypted and accessed only through authenticated services. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach materially affects your data, we will tell you without undue delay.
9. International transfers
SlateRoom is run from Austin and London. Our infrastructure runs in the United States. Where data moves between countries we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
10. Changes
We will update this policy when our practices change and show the date at the top. We will email active customers about material changes.
